Galway Music Residency presents its renowned multi-genre series LIVE once again at the new time of 3pm on Saturdays 4, 11 and 18 December on Galway’s iconic Druid Lane. 3 Kinds of Music went online during the pandemic across two digital festivals but is finally back in a live setting. Each event is curated by a special guest and will feature some of Ireland’s best emerging and established musicians in pop-up gigs throughout the weekend.

Saturday 11 December at The Mick Lally Theatre sees a musical exploration of climate change and the disappearance of the natural world from guest curator Aengus Hackett. His selection of musicians includes Uilleann Piper, pipe maker and former botany professor Eugene Lambe and renowned jazz pianist Greg Felton. ConTempo Quartet will discover some of the wildlife hidden in the classical music repertoire.

This series of events is free, family-friendly, and donations are welcome, but booking is required. In light of increased Covid cases, capacity will be capped at 50%. Vaccine certs must be presented to gain entry.
