Sometimes art can express things in ways we as individuals cannot. Join us for a unique combination of poetry, music and devised performance bringing poet William Keohane, composer Ailís Ní Ríain and students of University of Galway together in reflections on grief and loss.

This event features the highly-anticipated world premiere of Wait, a new string quartet by Irish Ailís Ní Ríain, composed for and performed by ConTempo Quartet. Composed in response to the poem ‘Wait’ by American poet Galway Kinnell, this new musical work creates a layered and poignant aural experience. The poem is a meditation on suicide and loss, and audiences will also have opportunity to hear it read by Kinnell in a video recording.

In his own words, Limerick poet William Keohane will guide us through a galaxy of feelings and memories sparked by these explorations.

To culminate the event, students of drama, theatre and performance at University of Galway will share a newly-devised and embodied response to these themes and the words of ‘Wait’.

Admission is free, but booking is highly recommended. Click here to book
